We wanted to share the exciting news with our patients that Jacklyn recently Published an article in the Plastic and Aesthetic Nursing journal!
The Plastic and Aesthetic Nursing (PAN) journal is the official peer-reviewed Journal of the International Society of Plastic and Aesthetic Nurses (ISPAN), a quarterly journal that has been published continuously since 1980 by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins (LWW).
The Journal presents the most current information about plastic and aesthetic nursing practice. Â PANÂ features clinical articles covering a wide variety of surgical and nonsurgical reconstructive and aesthetic procedures. Articles about patient education techniques and research findings are also included, as well as articles discussing the important ethical issues and trends in this expanding clinical nursing specialty.
In October, 2022, Jacklyn was asked to share her knowledge at the ISPAN meeting in Boston.  Shortly after the meeting, she was contacted by the Editor-in-Chief of The Plastic and Aesthetic Nursing (PAN) journal to publish her research in the next issue.
Jacklyn’s article articulates the core facility recommendations for regulated health care providers and professionals performing medical aesthetic procedures involving the use of topical and local anesthesia in a private clinic setting in Canada. The recommendations help ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and ethics. Information is provided about the setting/environment where medical aesthetic procedures are performed, safety equipment and emergency medications that should be on-site for medical aesthetic procedures, infection prevention and control measures, the way that medications and medical supplies should be stored, how to handle biomedical hazardous waste, and how to protect patient information.
