What Is DiolazeXL?

How Does DiolazeXL Work?
During laser treatment, a diode laser beam passes through the skin towards hair follicles. The penetrating energy then heats up the root of the hair, which in turn prevents future hair growth.
Does It Hurt?
DiolazeXL has a built in skin cooling surface which makes treatment more comfortable, with most patients noting that DiolazeXL is virtually painless.
Why Do I Need Multiple Treatments to Achieve Hair Removal?
It takes more than one treatment to affect all the follicles growing in an area. The number of sessions will vary for each individual. During the initial visit the laser light disables those follicles in the active phase of the growth cycle. Follicles in the dormant phase will not be affected. Follicles cycle through these phases, therefore, additional sessions may be desired once the dormant follicles transition into an active growth phase. For this reason we recommend a series of treatments. Lighter coloured hair may require more treatments than darker coloured hair.
How Many Sessions Are Required?
Hair is reduced with each treatment and results are usually observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone.
Which Areas of the Body Can Be Treated?
DiolazeXL can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair. Most commonly treated areas include: bikini, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin and sideburns.
DiolazeXL Before & After
Prior to undergoing treatment, one must avoid over-exposure to sunlight or using tanning treatments. Prepare for this at least a month prior to the treatment date.
It is necessary to shave the treatment area the day before the appointment date. If the area is not shaved we may shave the area with an additional fee.
Please do not wax, tweeze, or use hair-removing creams. Their use can affect significantly decrease the efficacy of laser hair removal treatments.
Please let us know if there has been any change in your medical history or if you are taking any medications. There are conditions and medications that can affect the skin's photosensitivity and therefore can be dangerous when undergoing any laser treatment.
Patients who have taken Accutane (Isotretinoin) or similar medications must have discontinued their use a minimum of 6 months prior to laser hair removal treatment. Please let us know if this affects you.
Post Treatment Instructions:
Avoid anything that will irritate the skin in the treatment area. This includes: scratching, picking or applying skin irritants on your skin's treated area as this may get irritated or infected.
Avoid any tanning lotion and sun exposure. This may cause hyperpigmentation on the treated area.
Continue to shave as required. Do not tweeze, wax or apply hair removal creams.
